"I need you here" - Message from Smile

Smile is a non-player based myth that is rumored to have terrorized players from the years 2011 to 2013. No recent reports of players having received messages from Smile have been seen. However unreported incidents can happen, which means Smile can still be out there.

Description

Smile is often depicted as being in two forms, his player avatar, and his in-game counterpart. The player avatar is solid black, with large white eyes and a large smile across its face, lined with razor-sharp teeth. The in-game counter-part is a hovering cloud with the same face as the player, with two large hands hovering just below it. No true avatar has been found matching the descriptions given, which means it could be a bug or manipulated page that players get sent to, rather than a true player.

Background

Several years ago, in 2011, there was a report of a player named  █████ receiving DMs from an 'unclickable' account named Smile. These DMs were always titled "Smile", and always contained the words "I need you here" within, with a link to a game. He had been harassed by these DMs for a little over a month and was growing tired of it.

He eventually gave in and clicked the game link, which automatically caused him to join. When he joined, he described it as a pitch black, smoke-filled room, with a noticeably larger smile, hovering at the other end and tracking his movement with its gaze. He was unable to close out of the game. He walked closer to it, and as he got closer, the game got laggier, until his entire computer crashed.

When the player rebooted his computer, his wallpaper was a screenshot of him in the game with Smile. Which he couldn't change. Startled by all of this, he got in contact with hunters who documented all of this information. They told him to keep in contact in case anything else happened. A hunter named ████████ tried contacting the player three days later, but found the account no longer existed, the hunter, thinking it was a termination, thought nothing of it, and forgot about the player.

Later however a friend of the player approached the hunter and informed him that the player had committed suicide and had carved a huge smile on his face, from ear to ear. His friend also reported that the player had said he had been having night terrors involving a figure with a large smile on his face. His parents reported hearing no noises from his room apart from loud laughing on the night of his suicide.

About a year later two hunters, by the names of ██████████ and ███████ were both contacted by an account saying "I need you here" from a user also by the name of Smile, they both decided this would be a good opportunity to get information on Smile so they decided to join the game together, and they took the only screenshots of Smile ever taken.

Later in the week, both hunters reported having extremely painful headaches. They both joked about it, saying it was "The Smile effect getting to them". Then that night both accounts went inactive and their avatars turned black with smiles on them, these smiles matched the smile of the Smile from the screenshots these hunters took earlier that week. Then both accounts completely disappeared. A fellow hunter, who knew both the names of the vanished hunters, researched news articles that were similar to the article from the last Smile Incident, the hunter then found that both hunters had committed suicide, with the same smile carved into their face as the previous victim, and with the same loud laughing coming from their rooms.

Additional Notes

  • Smile does NOT have any relations to The Smiles Family
  • Smile was last reported in 2013, since then no other reports have been made, making most of the Myth community believe Smile is no longer at large.
